| FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: 700 BLOCK OF WEST SENECA TURNPIKE |

At 0852 hours, Rescue 3 and Car 1 responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries in the 700 block of West Seneca Turnpike. Upon arrival crews found one vehicle on its roof with a conscious elderly female trapped inside. Units quickly worked to stabilize the vehicle and removed both doors and the B post on the drivers side making access to the patient. Upon completion of this the victim became unconscious and stopped breathing. Rural Metro Medical Services transported the female to University Hospital however she was pronounced dead a short time later. Witnesses say the female struck another vehicle and then left southbound on West Seneca Turnpike at a very high rate of speed before going off the road into a utility pole. |
